The Whitefield Development Trust is a registered charity whose purpose is to raise funds and accept donations, which benefit pupils and students with special educational needs at Whitefield and in the wider community that we serve on an outreach basis. Since the 1980s we have raised funds for Whitefield Schools, but now it has widened its remit to support Joseph Clarke School school.
Over the years the Trust has raised capital to support a vigorous building and refurbishment programme, funding several projects outright: the hydrotherapy/swimming pool, the Rebecca Goodman classroom block, the adventure playground, the Research and Development Centre, the main staffroom, and the Early Years Centre. It has also made substantial contributions to the Physical Education/Sports Hall, the Margaret Brearley School building, and the Niels Chapman School building. The Trust's first contributions to Joseph Clarke School came in late 2018 when it agreed to fund development of the school's playgrounds and the new multi-used games area.
The Trust is now looking for new members to help with its fundraising work. The emphasis is on raising large sums, maninly through grant applications and business donations – if you are a parent or staff member, or a member of the community, and enjoy networking, then contact Frances Bence, PA to the CEO at Whitefield Academy Trust and she will put you in touch.
