Medical services

 

Pupils in the special schools are supported on a regular basis by health service staff comprising of Nurses, Paediatricians, speech and language therapist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist. In addition to providing direct care, the health staff also provide some training for the school staff around the specific health needs of individual children. Health reviews by appointment take place within the school setting and nurses are on site each day.  

 

Other health staff also visit the school and these are the psychiatrist and other mental health staff, Orthoptist, Optician, optometrist  and dental staff.
