A wide variety of clubs and activities take place during the lunch break, after school and during holidays to enrich the curriculum and to nurture the personal and social development of students.
Physical activity and sport plays an important part in the life of the school. We have excellent facilities and run a range of clubs that cater for students with the full range of needs. These exciting activities include boccia, table cricket, and new age curling together with the more traditional sports such as football, basketball, hockey, athletics, swimming, badminton and table tennis.
At Whitefield, we believe that it is important for students to have the opportunity to take part in competitions and festivals. Our students are able to represent the school in a variety of activities and can achieve representative honours in Paralympic sports for the Waltham Forest, London and Essex.
A particular feature of life at Whitefield is the multi-activity after school club which takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This provides enriching sport, leisure and Cultural activities for our young people, including music and movement, art workshops, multi-skill disabled sports, cooking, sensory activities and rebound therapy.
The school also offers holiday activities to provide exciting opportunities for young people and to provide support for parents. We run holiday sports and dance clubs for students from Whitefield and other schools within Waltham Forest. These sessions not only provide the opportunity for young people to participate in a range of physical activities, but enable them to develop their talents through structured and intensive coaching and support. Sessions focus on fun, participation and achievement.
