Whitefield hosted a group of 45 teachers and staff from the Ministry of Education from Lithuania who were in England as part of best practice study group. The teachers were particularly interested in SEN and support structures for families.
Maureen Duncan, the Head of Margaret Brearley School welcomed them and gave some background information about Whitefield and our pupils.
The delegates then divided themselves into groups of 15 (using different coloured scarfs!) and were given the opportunity to tour around the school and observe in different classes. The visit concluded with a question and answer session with our Vice-Principal Laura Pease, Gill Wadeson from Family Support and Maureen Duncan.
The visitors’ feedback was very positive and they highlighted that they would be able to take a lot of ideas and information back to their own institutions. They presented the school with some souvenirs and chocolate from Lithuania, which were gratefully accepted.
