The latest phase of redevelopment work finished last week when Joseph Clarke School took possession of its new reception area and classrooms from the building team.
The temporary reception is now a thing of the past, with a striking new reception area, leading up via a curving access ramp to a new corridor that leads to new classrooms and new library space, as well as a new staff room and administration areas.
The new building features light and airy spaces and lifts for step-free accessibility as well as eco-friendly green roofs. "We're absolutely delighted with the work so far" says Isobel Cox, Joseph Clarke School's headteacher. "There's no doubt that the environment plays a part in students' wellbeing and these bright, accessible buildings definitely offer a relaxed, pleasant place to learn"

The next stage
The Primary department has now moved into the new building and the the old primary classrooms across the front of the building have been boarded off, while they are completely refurbished. This is expected to take between 12-14 weeks. Once completed, it will be Secondary's turn – which is expected to take a similar amount of time.
