We are fast approaching the end of a successful and busy first term at Whipps Cross Hospital. Our twelve interns have been working hard towards becoming work-ready and gaining many new skills and qualities along the way.
In addition to our existing placements across the hospital we have a couple of exciting new roles this term.
Dementia Assistant is a prestigious new role for us which involves sensitively and attentively interacting with patients on wards and bringing a smile to brighten up their day. We have another outstanding new role as a Nutrition Assistant in the Dietician Department, carrying out the important task of monitoring supplements for all the wards.
Looking towards 2017, we’re excited about the interesting opportunities that lie ahead for our interns as they work towards competitive paid employment.
...meanwhile at the Royal London Hospital
A successful end of term and all interns had first rotations linked to their skills at the new start of the second site at the Royal London Hospital. As the number of interns increases so does the diversity of departments in which they work.
Some of the departments that the interns have experienced in their first round of rotations are clinical engineering, portering, domestic ward assistants, therapies and ophthalmology administrative assistants, medical records, linen and laundry, patient dining and catering assistants. Pre-interviews are already starting for second rotations to take place after Christmas with two new departments included - endoscopy and pathology and pharmacy.
It will be an exciting 2017 ahead of us as we open more doors of opportunities, hospital departments and roles.
