Finance Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to work as part of the finance team.   

This role is idea for a person who has started the AAT Foundation course and is looking to take their next step in finance. You will build on your experience in operating the Purchase Ledger, processing orders, petty cash claims and preparing BACS payments.

You will help the Trust in attaining its aims and objectives through the provision of financial support services by providing financial administrative support for the Trust and work in close liaison with staff at all levels.

You will be required to prepare reports for the Chief Finance Officer and to ensure that accounting systems and procedures are used properly, accurately, effectively and securely.
You will have a minimum of five GCSEs. Good ‘A’ level passes will be an advantage. You should have at least one-year experience in a similar position and be able to operate the Sage 200 accounting system.

  • 36 hours x 52 weeks per year
  • Scale 3 S5 Salary £21,591pa
  • Start Date: As soon as Disclosure and Barring Service check is received

Whitefield Academy Trust comprises of two special schools for pupils aged 3 – 19, both situated in the London Borough of Waltham Forest (but attracting referrals from a much wider area). 

Whitefield Schools – an outstanding school based in Walthamstow which provides specialist education for pupils with complex needs including communication and interaction difficulties. 

Joseph Clarke School – a school which is highly regarded for its expertise in visual impairment based nearby in Highams Park

Our Research and Development Centre provides support, training and resources for both school staff and other professionals.  It also hosts an excellent library and an Outreach Service which supports pupils across 4 Local Authorities.
