Coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid-result testing in school
Whitefield Schools has been awarded the British Council’s prestigious International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom.
Despite challenges presented by Covid-19, the North East London branch of DFN Project SEARCH – a collaboration between Whitefield Academy Trust and Barts NHS Trust – has got off to a flying start this term.
We are currently contacting parents of 6 pupils from a single class in MBS today . Their class bubble is advised by public health to self-isolate. We will provide supported learning for them complete at home and we look forward to their return next Monday, 19th October.
We have spoken to Public Health and pleased to say that a number of Peter Turner Primary School children will be returning to school on Monday. We have contacted all the parents and carers of pupils who can return, directly.
There are two confirmed cases of C-19 in Peter Turner Primary School. We have assessed the risk to staff and children and taken advice from Public Health England and decided to temporarily close PTP Key Stage 1 and 2 (Years 1-6) until we receive further information. The Early Years bubble is not affected.
On Monday we are looking forward to welcoming back the majority of our children and staff from the MBS bubble - those who were not in contact with the member of the school who tested positive for Covid-19.
Following a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the Margaret Brearley part of Whitefield this weekend, we have taken the decision to temporarily close the Margaret Brearley ‘bubble’ for the time being.
We would like to pay tribute to the resilience and hard work of our Entry level, GCSE and A-Level students during a very difficult year. Our students have worked incredibly hard and we are very proud of their results.
As you know, our school will be fully open for all children from Monday September 7th. Here's an update on our arrangements for the return to school.
We will be welcoming all children and students back to school on 7th September. Details about the arrangements for your child/children will be sent next week. This will explain how your child will join in September.
Whitefield Academy Trust will submit plans for a new community training café to the council later this month. If accepted and if consultation with local residents goes well – construction of the new café in the park opposite Joseph Clarke School could begin this summer.
I am pleased to let you know that we are opening more widely for a few more young people.
