Welcome from our Chief Executive

Driven by an ethos of enjoyment, achievement and wellbeing for all, we open up the world for all our pupils and enable them to fulfil their potential

Situated in north east London and comprising Whitefield School – a close-knit group of welcoming and inclusive special schools for pupils aged 3-19 – and Joseph Clarke School – a highly specialist school for pupils with vision impairment – we seek to educate, inspire and challenge all our pupils.  In doing so, we help them develop into happy and confident individuals who are well prepared to make the most of the next stage of their education and lives.

Our schools are committed to delivering high standards and supporting our pupils to achieve a wide range of life skills as well as academic and vocational qualifications.  We do this by placing the needs of each pupil at the centre of all we do. As such, we offer bespoke provision through our curriculum pathways that meet each pupils’ needs, interests and aspirations. Every pupil therefore receives the education that is right for them enabling them to make outstanding progress during their time with us.

Our success is only possible through the hard work and dedication of our expert and inspirational team of teachers, support staff and therapeutic staff who go above and beyond for all our pupils.  We build on their expertise through our Professional Development Services which provide a range of training opportunities to teachers and support staff across London and the south east.  We also share our knowledge and skills through our schools’ SEND outreach services for three London local authorities in 240 mainstream schools.

We are also proud to deliver a highly successful employability programme – Project Search East London – which has a proven track record of helping our interns who have special needs to secure fulfilling, paid employment.

Our schools are calm, nurturing and safe places full of love, laughter and fun which put the wellbeing of pupils at the heart of everything we do.  If you are a prospective parent or carer looking for a special school for your child, please contact us to arrange a time to visit one of our schools.

Likewise, we welcome applications from teachers and support staff looking to progress their careers and we are always keen to explore opportunities to work in partnership with other schools, local authorities and Multi Academy Trusts.  If you would like to discuss how our approach to SEND provision can benefit your schools, please get in touch.

We look forward to welcoming you to Whitefield Academy Trust.
